WebHandler™3 Tension Controller

(ROCHESTER, NH, USA—January 21, 2008) Dover Flexo Electronics, Inc. (DFE), manufacturer of web tension measurement and control equipment for the converting industry has released the WebHandler™ 3 Digital Web Tension Controller with several new software enhancements and a Profibus network interface option. Working with input from DFE tension transducers, the WebHandler™3 automatically controls the output to a tensioning component such as a pneumatic brake, clutch or DC drive to maintain a web tension setpoint.

Via a simple-to-use touchpad interface, the included serial interface with Windows-based software, or via the new optional Profibus interface, the WebHandler™3 can be setup, calibrated and remotely accessed. A range of control parameters can be selected and changed via these al-ternate interfaces including job parameter (recipe) storage and recall, push-button rezero, soft start, automatic speed change compensation, taper tension, and high and low tension limit switch (TLS) settings.
